Oak Creek Canyon

Friday night Jason and I were sitting around figuring out what we should do for our date. Since Jason is kind of a "homebody" we usually just get Chinese food take-out. I'd rather go on a real date, but at least it saves me one night a week of cooking and dishes so I'll take what I can get right? I figured it would be something similar this week, but Jason decided we should put off our "date" until Saturday and drive somewhere up north.
So Saturday morning we headed up to Oak Creek Canyon.

Parker keeping himself entertained on the drive up.
We stopped by Sonic on the way up and brought our food to the creek to have a picnic by the water.
Walking towards the creek to find a place to eat
Discovering the rocks and sticks

Parker sticking his feet in.

At first Parker kept putting his feet in the water. After a few seconds he would pull his feet out and say "co-co, wat" while doing sign language for cold and water. He did this a few million times and then decided he didn't care if it was cold, he eventually got his clothes wet, and so we stripped him down to his diaper and let him splash and play and get into the water. He loved it- he probably never would have left if he had the choice.

Parker splashing.

Eventually we left, and on our way home we stopped by the Outlet Mall in Anthem. Jason got some much needed new jeans, and we found some cute cheap kids clothes. It was great to spend the day with my boys, I'm glad Jason loves me enough to take me out sometimes, even though he hates driving. I love him!

Isn't that so weird that kids don't care how cold the water is?
