It's Genetic

Look like my kids to you?
Well, these pictures are of Jason and me- but I bet I could probably pass them off as pictures of Parker and Aria.

Weight Check

This morning I had to take Aria to the doctor to check her weight.
She came in at 26-1/2" and 15 lbs 15oz
She moved from 'just below' the 10th percentile, to 'right on' the 10th percentile. So she's still tiny, but doing well.
We do have to go back in again next month to make sure she continues to grow- but everything looks good for now.
By the way, at 8-1/2 months Aria weighs one pound less than Parker weighed at 6 months (He was 16lbs 15oz {obviously})

BedHead

After nap the other day Aria woke up with the sweetest case of bedhead

Oh... Not crazy enough?
Here's another angle

And this was all after I spent about 7 minutes trying to flatten it down.

My crazy head baby standing up
She stands all of the time now, she has cruised around a few times but doesn't go more than a few steps.
She did however attempt walking, and yes, she face-planted.

Random Stuff

Aria has made major improvements with eating.
Here she is messy after eating some peas, and chewing on her new fave: the crunchy part of lettuce
Parker after he helped me make a cake, and then licked the spoon
I sat Aria in her car seat, but didn't buckle her in yet- she was out before I could get Parker's shoes on

Digging in the Cupboard

My kids playing together in the kitchen
Don't worry- I can tell my kids apart, those name tags aren't for me... All the kids wear name tags at a playgroup we went to.

Aria has started climbing- she almost got onto the couch the other day
I adore these two munchkins

Parker's Latest Obsession

When Parker turned two I decided he could watch a little TV.
So far he has watched about ten minutes of Fantasia, A Bug's Life, Aladdin, and Peter Pan.
And Parker LOVES Peter Pan.
He loves it so much that we have watched it a second time already.
Here's Parker at Easter. He'll spend long periods of time looking at the Peter Pan page of his Disney book.
Reading it in the car:

Reading it while listening to the Peter Pan song on our iPod.

Or just listening to the song (over and over)

Here's the best one. Parker didn't want to put the book down long enough to walk into the house. So he's reading it while he walks.
And of course by 'reading' I just mean looking endlessly at the page about Peter Pan.

Parker Talk

Parker talks. he talks and talks, and talks.
He is a little shy so some people may find it hard to believe, but at home he hardly ever stops talking.
We don't even listen to music in the car anymore because Parker is constantly talking about school buses, about red, yellow, and green lights, about landscaping trucks, and trash trucks, about trees, and stores, and billboards... you get the idea? He talks. A lot.

And I wanted to share some of the cutest things he says/said

On a regular basis now, Parker will come give me a hug and say in a super sing-song voice "Parker loves Mom-meee" (Or Parker loves Daddy if he's talking to Jason)

He knows the word for somebody, but he can't remember the word for nobody so he says nosomebody

He sometimes gets Gummy Bears for a treat when he goes potty- But he calls them Yummy Bears

When Jason or I (or both ) are not paying enough attention to him he'll say "Hey! Talk to Parker" or "look at Parker" one time he told me to look at him, but Jason kept talking to me so I turned back to Jason and Parker grabbed my face and said "No, Look at Parker for three minutes"

Parker is very interested in the time. he's always asking what time it is. he knows that when it's 7 at night that's about bed time, and he knows a few other 'times' but he doesn't quite get it yet.
Here's something that happens daily in our house
Sitting in the kitchen
Parker: What Time is it?
Me: It's 11:45
Parker: (pointing to the living room) What time's it in the living room?
Me: It's 11:45
Parker: What time's it at the Library?
I then try to explain to him that it is the same time everywhere
Parker: Don't talk about that!

Yep, That's what Parker tells me when he doesn't like what I'm saying "Don't talk about that"

I know he likes somebody when he tells me that they poop in the potty. He sits on the pot and talks about all the people in his life that put their poop in the potty. Parents, Grandparents, cousins, and a few friends from church are on this list. My friend Stephanie came over and spent the day with me last week. and I was able to tell that Parker liked her, but it was confirmed when the next day he was in the bathroom and he told me "Stephanie puts poop in the potty"

Aria was fussy the other day and Parker goes and sits face to face with her and says "Aria, what's wrong? You upset? Calm down, Use your words"

Parker figured out that Mommy and Daddy have different names. He spent a few hours calling me Sister Tieman over and over, and has called Jason Brother Tieman a few times. Some days he'll call us Jason and Jennifer, too. I thought the Sister Tieman thing was cute, but I don't like him calling me Jennifer, I don't know why.... but I always correct him.

I also love to hear Parker say big words- there is something ridiculously adorable about his little chipmunk voice saying some big word, my favorites being; guacamole (he says macamole) and hippopotamus. My other favorite thing to hear in his little squeaky voice is when he requests his favorite song, and says "I bring home baby bumble bee" his sweet little voice with all of those 'B' sounds is simply adorable.

I also love holding little conversations with him- it's crazy that I can't actually sit and talk with him- it seems like he was just born recently, and he should still be my little baby- not my talking toddler.

Aria Thriving

A little update on Aria:
The Doctor called with the results from Aria's blood test and....... once again, everything looks fine, all of her hormone and mineral levels were fine; so, no visit to the endocrinologist at this time!
I do need to bring her in monthly for a while to monitor her weight, but I think she'll be just fine.
In other news; last week after our grocery shopping at Walmart (Yes, I know Walmart is yucky but it's cheap) I noticed that Aria's onesie was super dirty- the buckle on the shopping cart was so dirty that it rubbed all of this junk onto her:
Eeeeeewww
Then after I took that picture, I got a few more that I just can't resist sharing with everyone
Oh. My. Goodness.
I can't imagine a more beautiful/adorable/perfect girl

Easter Eve

Fun Day Today!
We watched (tried really hard to watch... but, we have two little kids) Conference, which was fabulous of course.
After the first session ended Jason did some yard work while I took the kids to Michael's for a free make and take craft for Easter.

Aria with the Easter bucket I made for her.

Parker making his bucket.

Then we walked around Michael's for a little bit, Joann's and Michael's are Parker's favorite stores. Today he enjoyed looking through the flowers

Then home for lunch and the second session of conference.
Here is what Aria did while Jason and I tried to pay attention.
She got her clothes all dirty, and I mean all dirty, so I changed her outfit to go to a going away party for an old friend, while Jason went to the priesthood session.

She is so GORGEOUS!

Then I made a handmade (no yucky pudding mix) Banana Cream Pie to take to the Tieman's, and finished my cake to take to the Murphy's for Easter tomorrow.

Happy Easter Everyone!
