Terra's Blessing

The last week in August we blessed Miss Terra Lynne.

Of course it was great, I'm grateful for Jason and his willingness to serve and bless our family with the priesthood.

After church I asked my mom to take a picture of us- so we could have a picture of all 5 of us.
Nothing great but here's the best one:
What!?! How am I supposed to use that to replace the picture on top of the blog so that it shows all 5 of us??? Aside from my funky hair- no one is smiling but me!!

Another one is worse- look at these three faces:
It's like looking at American Gothic! I'm sorry you just want to eat and you don't want to wait and take pictures guys, but couldn't you humor me and just smile a little??

Oh well, I love my somber, serious family even when they lack facial expressions.

These Match

I let the kids pick out their own clothes. Once in a while they would pick out goofy looking outfits, but they're kids-- so who cares?
Well, Jason does. When he was the stay-at-home parent he didn't like them wearing crazy outfits, so he would tell Parker to go back and get a shirt that matched, and tried to teach him what matching means.
Too bad he's only 3. So he 'matched' these outfits:

They both have red and the both have stripes, says Parker

They both have white (a tiny bit of white on the trucks on the shirt)

"They both have green"
So I think it's a little funny that Jason teaching him to match has backfired-- he still picks out crazy outfits, but now he swears they go together.

And some of Aria's self-made outfits:

pink, blue and white striped shirt, fall colors and leaves for shorts

Stripes and polka dots!

Light pink shirt, jean shorts, BRIGHT blue Dr. Suess socks and bright pink sandals creating ostrich feet with the socks.

And, though Terra didn't choose this it's still goofy:
Sock-glove

She sucks her left thumb and we're doing what we can to stop it- so she often wears one little sock on her left hand.

Playing with the Baby

Who doesn't love playing with a baby?

Especially a cute chubby one like that!
I love seeing my kids together
So this post is just super full of pictures of my babies when they're playing with each other (Well, Parker and Aria are playing- Terra is just 'there')

The older kids also take the chance to use the Bumbo now that it's out

Now you can see Parker playing and reading with Terra. You can hear Parker's awesome 'crazy laugh'
I don't know hwy he laughs like that sometimes...

I love that when it falls off her head he fake sneezes, as if she sneezed and that made the bracelet fall.

Holy Cow! I really love these three little people!

First day of "preschool"

So, I see a bunch of moms post pictures of their kids by the front door on their kids first day of school/preschool.
Well, September 1st was Parker's first day of "preschool" so I decided to get some shots.
He doesn't like to pose, here is the best one I got:
Then I figured... we're doing school a bit unconventionally by homeschooling, so why not let him go ahead and get some less conventional first day of school shots

Oh boy--- I love my Parker

Right now we're studying just a little bit of phonics and math- but we're mostly doing a unit study on colors.
Day 1 was mixing white and red (it makes pink ;) )

Then the kids sorted out red and pink buttons

And the world's youngest preschooler just sat there and soaked it all in:
Ohmygoodness. I. Love. That. Doublechin.
And I could eat up those legs, too.

One more baby pic, just for good measure.

So far, Parker loves doing his "school-lessons" and Aria loves to join in. We've also learned about mixing black and white, light/dark of all of the colors, and the rainbow.
And we've just about cleaned out the 'colors' books from the kids section of library.

Why Grandma?

So did I forget to say why I took my mom to the children's museum instead of Jason?
I'll tell you why- because Jason was working.
That's right, Jason has a job! And another (part-time) job. And I still have a (part-time) job (temporarily).
3 Jobs!!!!
Can you believe it?
We've been so blessed up to this point and I'm so grateful for our Heavenly Father who was able to provide when we didn't know how it would work out.
We're excited to be back in the working world. Even if we are going to be a bit exhausted with three jobs and three kids and a commitment to never send our kids to daycare.

Free Museum Visit

I'm Thrifty
just kidding- I'm not thrifty I'm CHEAP- but thrifty sounds nicer, right?
Since I'm (see we're: Jason's as bad as I am) cheap I love free stuff
We've been to the Phoenix Children's Museum a few times- but only when we can get in for free.

Well I got another chance to get in for free and I took my mom with me so that I wouldn't have to stress with three kids 3 and under.

Look at these kids- they had so much fun.

It was fun to see their different personalities at work there.

For Parker:
There's a grocery shopping area where Parker spent his whole time either being a cashier for other kids, or reshelving products. And in the kitchen area he spent all of his time cleaning up. He liked stashing the dishes and sorting the food and hanging up the utensils. He actually gave dirty looks to kids who would come and play with the stuff he had just cleaned up.

Aria, as you can imagine, was different. She bounced around like a ping pong ball. She played with everything for two seconds at a time and then moved on.
Except for the measuring/pouring station:
And, of course, she was super friendly. She would try to play with other kids and moms and she even walked right over to some woman and sat on her lap to play with her.

It was a fun day- and I loved spending it with my kids

Video Games

If you know me you won't be surprised to know that my kids don't spend a lot of time in front of the TV/Computer.
But I know a little screentime never hurt anyone
So here are a couple of videos of my cute kids playing video games. Mostly these videos are cute because I love the sound of my kids' laughter.
