Science Fair

In March one of our homeschool groups had a science fair.

Parker learned about acids/bases.

We made Lemon Soda by mixing lemon and baking soda (and water and sugar)
Our set up
Parker decided what would go on the poster and did it himself, except the recipe for the soda.

Parker with this science experiment
We also put out a tray of baking soda and some small droppers with colored vinegar, so the younger kids could do some "experimenting" it was definitely the hit of the day for the 5 and under crowd.
Aria, getting ready to drop colored vinegar onto baking soda

After the vinegar was added to the baking soda

It was a fun day and we learned lots!

Pioneer living History Field trip

We went to the Pioneer living history museum for a field trip with one of our homeschool groups.

Our group
You can see one of the boys holding up a small snake he found while we were there

Feeding  goat

They have lots of old buildings and a lot of stuff that shows how early settlers used to live.
They also had a gunfight

Waterfall Trail Hike

In March we went on a hike in the local white tank mountains, trying to enjoy the nice weather

Me and my babies, ready to hike:

Aria LOVES to climb, so she loved stopping to climb on the rocks:

Of course the other kids followed:

Here are a few pics at the end of the trail where there is a small waterfall

Exploding Paint

So I saw an idea online for exploding sidewalk paint.
Of course... We did it!

Our color bags ready to go:

We have a video of one of the bags exploding here

The aftermath:

And of course, Parker doing math:

He didn't know what to draw with the chalk so he just did multiplication instead

And then he made a "game" called "Lost Love" and I had to find three hidden messages:

Yep I love you, three times
Love that kid!

And here is Corin hanging out in the back of the van while we played with the paint and chalk

Cute Baby!

Crazy Pants

Aria, just wearing her underwear, and a pair of womens nylons

Swinging

We got a swingset for Christmas more than 5 years ago and we are still so grateful for it.
When the weather is nice we are out in the backyard playing several times a day and the kids LOVE to have me push them on the swing.

Here's my chubby baby on one of his first turns getting to swing:

My three littlest:

Baby Bum

Parker came up with a way to swing on two swings, and the girls have taken his idea:

My View

I love babywearing!
I love the view of this chubby baby asleep, snuggled right up against me!

Painting

We do a lot of crafts around here, but one day I actually took pictures of it
I got out Q-tips to let the kids paint with:

And in the end I thought it was funny to see the difference between my kids...

Aria's paint after:

Parker's paint after:

I just thought it was indicative of their overall personalities. Aria is a bit crazy and all over the place and Parker is neat and orderly and careful.
