I'm in love!

So I love music--- A LOT!
I guess I'm a bit of a music snob though- I judge people based on the lame music they listen to and I think people are stupid when they don't like the same stuff as me (I'm working on that).
Most music sucks-- so I only have one radio station on my presets- I listen to the Edge or my iPod- none of the other crap, but the Edge has been a little disappointing lately, they play this stupid song by the Blowbots like every hour- ugh! Plus, I'm still suffering from my broken heart caused by The Format breaking up... I needed some new music- I needed something good

Jason's cousin MyKelle likes a lot of the same music as me and she has a list of her favorite bands on the side of her blog, On the list is a band called The Honorary Title- I had heard the name before, but didn't know any of their music, I stopped by myspace to see if they have a page and check some free music from them.

So I was sitting there listening to The Honorary title to see if they suck or not- they do NOT! Half way through the first song I knew I had found it- I found them in iTunes and bought their album immediately- They first reminded me of Something Corporate, then they reminded me a little bit of Before Braille, both awesome bands, but the guy from The Honorary Title has the best voice out of all three bands!

I heart them and hopefully you will too!!!

Deer Valley (Picture Overload!)

We just got back from a week long trip to Deer Valley, Utah- we stayed at the top of a mountain near Park City. It was beautiful weather, excellent food and lots of family time.

We flew up to Salt Lake Saturday the 16th. I was so worried about Parker on the airplane-- I really didn't want to have the screaming kid on the plane. So I packed everything under the sun into my "diaper bag" hoping that I could avoid tantrums... it was unnecessary-- neither flight was full so we were able to have Parker in his own seat, and in his car seat, so he slept for all but 25 minutes on the way up to Salt Lake, and all but the first ten minutes on the trip back to Phoenix- he couldn't have had a better flight.

Parker On his first airplane ride- totally happy after his nap- and then trying to eat his foot, but the pane's seat belt is in the way.

It was gorgeous up in Park City- the weather was wonderful and everything was nice and green- Here's Parker playing on real grass for the first time.

We went up to Sundance one day and all had lunch together- It was beautiful there.

Our Family by the nice little river

Dipping our feet in further upstream- the water was cold and you can see Parker trying to pull his feet away from the water

While we were at Sundance we tried to get some cute pictures of the kids- they look adorable of course but very distracted.

All 3 'Tieman' Grandkids

After Lunch we rode the ski lift at Sundance- Parker enjoyed it, and fell asleep on the way down.

Tom and Shirley, Jared and Becky, and Megan

Steve, Dawn and Colter

We also went to the Olympic Park

Cute outfit!! ----- Parker on the Luge ------ Parker and me in a bobsled

Parker eating his sunglasses, this is usually what happens, he pulls them off and then gets mad when the sun is shining in his eyes. But, at the end of the trip, we were finally able to get him to keep them on.
There was a cute little Park in the community where we were staying so we hiked a little up the mountain (it was paved-- not a real hike) and played in the park.
Parker going on a slide for the first time.
Playing around at the playground.
We went on the swings at the playground, and while we were swinging, and deer just came and walked through the park- not something we'd see here in Phoenix.

While we were there Park City was hosting a jazz festival, and Friday night was headlined by Blues Traveler. Jason and our Brother-in-Law Kody went to the concert and had a good time.

Sad Day :(

I knew it had to come soon--- this sad day.... Parker has teeth.

That might not sound that sad, but I love LOVE LOVE babies without teeth. The big toothless grin is priceless. I'm going to miss it :(

So anyway, Parker has been acting like he was teething for a long time, then on Sunday I thought I saw some discoloration on his bottom gums and then sure enough of Monday there were two little teeth popping through his bottom gums.

Parker apparently doesn't want me to take pictures of his mouth.... lots of attempts, this is the best I could get-- Sorry! If you look close enough you can see both of the bottom middle teeth showing a little.

So in memoriam of the big toothless smile that will now be a thing of the past... here are some smile pictures

Can you blame me for not wanting to lose this big toothless grin???

Grandma and Grandpa Murphy

My parents were in town for the last couple weeks, so Jason and I spent a lot of time commuting into Phoenix to hang out.

Lots of sitting around, some free babysitting, a BBQ and they were even here for the baby blessing of Hunter, their newest grandson.

Parker with Grandpa, wearing Grandpa hat... how cute!

We miss you guys already!!! See you at the end of September!

Momma's Boy

So since the day he was born Parker has reminded us all of Jason. He's Jason's little clone. And Seriously every day he seems to look more and more like Jason. When Talking to Janet (Jason's mother) we find out that even his personality traits are exactly the same as Jason when he was a baby.

Now at more than 7 months of age, I can see 2 things that Parker inherited from me.

**Number 1--- the "T.V. Face"

An ex-boyfriend I had years ago noticed that when I watch TV or movies or sit on the sidelines watching my friends play volleyball, etc. I have a tendency to let my mouth fall open a little bit. He called it the "T.V. face" I just watch what's going on and don't realize I'm "catching flies" as my brother-in-law says. Apparently, this is something I passed on to my son. He constantly has his mouth open, and he'll sit around watching people and let his mouth fall slack...

Here we have Parker watching this fish swim around the fish tank... while sporting the 'T.V. Face'

**Number 2--- Fast growing hair

My Hair grows fast- and I mean fast, at my last hair cut we figured out that my hair had grown 5-1/2 inches in just 3 months and a week. This is both good and bad... I can grow my hair out long without having to wait forever, however, that means that when I color my hair You can see the regrowth or "roots" way too quickly.

Well Lucky for my mother I'm a girl, so she didn't need to cut my hair constantly when I was little, I was just a little girl with long hair... making all the other little girl's mothers jealous.

Parker, of course, is a boy-so I can't just let him grow hair half way down his back, but he has inherited the ridiculous hair growth from me. He is 7 months old and has had six-- that's right SIX hair cuts already. Plus a few little trims, when I just cut the hair that's growing too long over his ears or something like that.

These are pictures of Parker before his latest haircut... I don't think it looks THAT bad, but it must be- because everyone kept telling me he needed his hair cut... Jason thought he needed it cut, so did my mother, random people in the aisles at Target told me that he needed his hair cut- even the cashiers and baggers at Safeway let me know.
I took this picture after his bath when I stuck his hair up to make it easier to cut... and I caught him in the middle of a sneeze.

Not happy with the hair cut??

New Office

After we fixed up our backyard, Jason wanted another project in the house.
He definitely wanted and indoor project- because it is just too damn hot outside. We decided to go with the messiest most neglected room in our house.- The Office.

Above you can see the 'before' pictures of the office.

The desk in the office was part of a collection that matched our bedroom furniture, because in our tiny old apartment, that was the only place for the computer. This desk didn't match the hand-me-down- bookshelves we had, and neither the bookshelves nor the desk matched the piano.

We Didn't want to have to move the piano to paint behind it... so we decided to leave the walls white, and paint the cabinets to get some color. We bought 2 new desks to match the piano, and moved the bookcases to the loft.

I like this much better, everything is much more organized, and I have a real home for my scrap booking and sewing stuff.

One Side effect of redecorating your house... boxes

Here we have some pictures of Parker Playing around in one of our extra boxes.

Here are Parker and Daddy, doing some more 'construction' work... putting together a new table for our front entry area
