Parker went through a 'why?' stage a little while ago, and he's begun asking "why?" again. But now if i don't give a satisfactory answer he'll sigh and say "No, Mommy- Why
for real?" To try to get me to give a better or more in depth answer.
I was making lunch one day and Parker asked why we have to eat so much. (see what I mean about asking why) and I explained how food has things that our body uses, etc and that's how we grow bigger, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then he laughs at me and says "No, eating food doesn't make you bigger... Birthdays make you bigger"
Parker has a bad habit.
He picks his nose.
I tell him to use a tissue and he refuses. One time I told him to stop and he said "I'm just going to go where you can't see me" (Because then I can't tell him to stop)
Aria also has a bad habit.
She sucks her thumb.
When we tell her to stop Parker proudly says "I don't suck
my thumb," usually followed by an admission "but I do pick my nose"
The good news is... he also said "When I'm big and I'm 4, I'll stop picking my nose"
Parker will often begin a thought with "Let me tell you something about..." and then he says what he's going to talk about. For example, "Let me tell you something about trains" and then he explains something about trains and how fast they go.
When Parker thinks something is
really big he says it is "Big as the sky"
Right now, Parker really likes to label any body of water as deep or shallow, and then calls it a pool.
Puddles in the grass? "That's like a really shallow pool"
The neighbors pool? "That pool is like a big deep pool"
The lake by the library is tricky "First it's shallow but when you go out it's like a really deep pool"
This is only a fraction of the awesome things that Parker says. He makes me laugh all of the time. I love him!
