Terra's Party

Terra turned three at the end of June.

Before her birthday, she couldn't wait for her birthday and every day she would ask "It my birthday today?" or "My birthday party today?" So we actually started counting down (with chain links) 63 days ahead of time so she could get a grip on how far away her birthday was.

Shortly before her party we bought food and stuff, which included soda (which is a big deal in our house). She was so excited for the soda for her party that she kept going into the pantry to look at, rearrange and hold 'her' soda bottles!

Anyway, party day FINALLY arrived, and she was able to celebrate at last!

It was a small party, but she was happy!

For the whole two months that she was counting down to her birthday she kept saying she wanted a cake with cherries on it.

We looked up some cake ideas online and I found one that she liked, but also seemed simple enough to pull off. Then, at the last minute she said she wanted it white with only three (since she's turning three) *real* cherries, not fondant, no food dye, just white frosting and real cherries. 

I didn't complain one bit! Simple cake? Yes ma'am!
